Two problems, possibly related

When (how long ago) was version 0.4.5 released?

Well, when the above "we're currently testing the new version" statement was made, 0.4.5 was already available on the downloads page for "public beta testing"... I assumed that was what was meant by that statement.

I seem to recall it's been there for nearly a month.

I've upgraded all my Windows 0.4.4 service-mode clients to 0.4.5 without problem.

I have run 0.4.5 on Java 1.4.2, 1.5, and 1.6 in both systray agent mode and service-mode without issues now. I think I always uninstall the old client before installing the new one.

The biggest hurdle is when the registration server(s) are flaky or down - at which point I usually cannot re-register the agent after upgrade

Edit: BTW, the minimum windows version requirements can be safely reduced to Windows NT4 SP6a w/IE4 in case anyone is interested

Edit2: I should probably also mention that I *never* install Dimes in C:\Program Files any more... Ever since the Java 1.6 issue, I make sure there's never a space in the path.

I re-downloaded and re-installed on Friday.

The agent seems to be working, I can see activity in the main graph window and I see no errors in the messages window.

However, I do not see any stats being updated, as you can see below in my epilog - which has been stuck at 2,402,931 for over a month.

Any update?

I'm testing the new 0.5.0 version - Actually the Agent is finished I'm only have to fix some issues in the service mode. Anyway, It won't take long.
Hopefully I'll finish it this week than I'll take another week or 2 for tests and if everything will be alright - It will be on air.

John - I saw your problem once. It is because of a problem in the winsock (Windows socket) But probably it was solved after re installing.

Anyway I can assure you that version 0.4.5 is very steady - We checked it for weeks before the release.

I'm not sure if it had anything to do with a new release of Norton AntiVirus I installed in the interim, but it now works
(after I told NAV to allow INVALID ICMP REQUESTS).
