Agent stopped delivering statistics

I have an agent/service, j3pflynn_aciral0, that has stopped delivering statistics. I have entirely uninstalled it, deleted any remaining traces of it and re-installed it, and still no update(except a bizarre 19 point update the other day). When I open the GUI agent, it seems to be operating correctly. It says it exchanges files with server, then runs statistics updater, then proceeds with pings, traceroutes and Keepalive tasks.

But if I watch active connection activity in Comodo Firewall, I can see that during the "exchanging files with server" and "running statistics updater" periods, javaw.exe is in listening mode only, and nothing goes out until it starts to ping. The behavior seems to be the same with the service; though I can't see the point in the process the service is in, "java.exe" and "wrapper.exe" stay in listening mode until pings appear to begin under java.exe.

Any thoughts? Any files I can send to help figure it out?

Oh, I also disabled the firewall to make sure it wasn't in some bizarre way causing the issue; that made no difference.

same problem here, i got no new credits for weeks now. and i didn't change a thing on my system...
any ideas?

This sounds like the server is filtering out your measurements. This can happen if your Agent is sending measurements that are more than two weeks old, or that the server already has. Most likely, your Agent is attempting to send the same measurements over and over. Also, if you have several Agents running in Virtual Machines on the same computer, the Server may ignore those measurements (We've had to implement these controls due to cheating)

If you've uninstall and and re-install the Agent, you probably re-installed in the same directory, which means that directories that were created by the previous installation may have remained in place, which would include the measurements files.

My suggestion is this: Got to your Agent directory and find the subdirectory Classes/base/Outgoing. In it there are two directories: log, and results. DELETE BOTH OF THEM. (Make sure that your Agent is not running when you do this.) Then restart your Agent. This will get rid of any old files. And should let your Agent send new measurements.

boazh, i tried your solution, let both agents collect dimes for a night, but i still get no credits. any other suggestions?

if 2 machines simultaniously don't get credit anymore, i believe the problem to be on your end.... just from a logic point of view...

I'm seeing strange problems here too. Machines that get no points for weeks then suddenly start working again. I'm also seeing machines that have dropped from a steady 2.5-3k per day down to 90 per day. I'm running about half the number of machines that I did a couple of years ago and my internet connection is twice the speed it was then and much more reliable too so I've no idea where the problem lies. I've also noticed that many long term users in the BoincSynergy team I'm in all suddenly stopped getting points.

O.K, I think the problem can be fixed by going back to an older version of Java and Dimes 0.50. I've managed to fix 2 machines that were no longer getting points. Probably an incompatibility with the latest version of Java and Dimes 0.52 from the looks of it.
