Can you give more details/screenshot? The only time it should say debug is the fist time that you change anything in your properties, which is normal.

I've tried v5.5 on 2 machines so far, one Win7-64 and the other XP-64. It works but dropped the output on both to about 1/2 to 2/3 of what it was in v5.2. Is there a new setting we should know about?

There is no new setting. However, you should check your properties in the Agent and make sure they match what you had in 5.2 (ie time between measurements, etc) A new Agent installation does not save your old settings.

Set to maximum: same as before, delay=15, file transfer=51
It runs much slower in both XP and Win7.

No one has any idea why this is happening? Anyone else seeing this slowdown?

Strange, I had a major blitz, updating to 0.55 and the latest version of Java and I'm seeing my output double  . I was running an extremely ancient version of Java and 0.50 before I updated. That's on several XP, Visa and one Win 7 machine. Only difference is that mine are all 32 bit machines.

Hmmm.. That IS interesting. We do test our code on 32bit machines, so it's theoretically possible that 64 bit machines would respond differently. (It's possible also that a 64 bit machine would run our code in some sort of "compatibility mode" that would degrade performance)

We've been looking at performance for the new network stack introduce in 0.5.5 and have been running some benchmarks. So far, our tests indicate that there is an increase of measurements in the new stack. But, as I said, that has only been tried on 32 bit machines.

All mine are 64bit. All 3 of the v5.5.1 versions are using Java 6-21. A couple weeks ago one of the Win7-64 machines all of a sudden started reporting scores at the same level as my older v5.0 & v5.2 machines. Two days ago the second Win7-64 client box did the same. The WinXP-64 box is still reporting scores that are lower than WinXP-64 with the older versions and only about 60% of the Win7-64 boxes. I must admit to being mystified...

Looking at your stats most of your machines seem to be getting 5.4k or so per day. This is what I'm now getting using 0.55.1 but before I updated I was only getting 2.7k per day. I have noticed though that once I go above 10 or 11 machines then the points start to drop off on some of the machines.

Hi Pete, yes as of 3 days ago both the Win7 machines running the new client now are back to their former output of 5.4k/day. I have no idea why they started working more efficiently after the long period of lower scoring. The WinXP box with the v5.51 client is still at 3.3k/day though.

It's possible that some results are or were stuck. Check your Agent/Classes/Base/Outgoing/Results folder. I found that if there's a problem with an old result then it'll continually try to upload it and slow down Dimes.
